The Athens Photography Tour

Description

Discover the hidden treasures and iconic landmarks of Athens, in an easy 3 hour walk covering a time period of 2,500 years!

ITINERARY

Our meeting point will be just outside the Evangelismos Metro Station in Vas. Sofias avenue (before the entrance of St. George’s church) where I will brief you on our walk. I will gladly give you tips regarding composition and exposure. I will photograph you with my professional gear (and send you the material in 3 days to your inbox) in the most beautiful Athenian sceneries like the Panathenaic Olympic Stadium (where the first Olympic Games took place in 1886), the Presidential Mansion, the National Gardens, the Columns of Olympian Zeus (a former huge temple completed under the reign of the Roman Emperor Hadrian in the 2nd century AD), the picturesque district of Plaka (the oldest neighborhood in Athens with its maze-like little streets, the tourist shops, restaurants and cafes) where we’ll have a 15’ break, the Odeon of Herodus Atticus (a roman stone theater completed in 161 AD and renovated in 1950), the Acropolis Hill (of course!) with the New Acropolis Museum, the Metropolis Cathedral of the Annunciation, the Parliament (the first royal palace in modern Greece that has been housing the parliament since 1934), and many many more. Our little journey will end at the roof garden of a luxurious hotel near Syntagma Square where you can relax with a cool glass of local wine (courtesy of our agency) while enjoying the breathtaking view of the Parthenon.
