On our way we will stop at Vouliagmenis Lake to enjoy the magnificent geological phenomenon and take some pictures. Vouliagmenis Lake created after an earthquake that made the roof collapse and revealed a labyrinthine of underwater tunnels and natural springs.
Then we will continue our excursion to Cape Sounio. Our driver will recommend places that you can take some pictures or to do a stop wherever your prefer to stop. When we arrive at cape sounio you will see one of the most beautiful and breathtaking panoramic views ever.
At a height of almost 60 meters its hard to imagine a more perfect setting for an ancient temple, in particular one dedicated to the “God of the Sea”. The unique Temple of Poseidon is an important monument of the GOLDEN AGE of Athens and holds significant historical and mythological value for the Athenians.
The temple was constructed in 444 -440 BC from the Athenian statesman Pericles. A sacred place that the Athenians worship Poseidon(God of sea). There you will have time to walk around and explore the temple and also have a coffee/lunch at the local cafe-restaurant.
The tour can also be done in the afternoon for you to witness the magical sunset from the temple.
